Ambrose Bierce - Il dizionario del diavolo

Io questo libro l'ho sempre amato moltissimo, da prima ancora di averlo nella mia libreria.
Potete trovarne frasi su Internet a iosa, ce n'è davvero di tutto. Perchè tanta fortuna? Perchè è brillante, divertente, ironico, intelligente. Vero, come l'ironia nasconde sempre fin troppo bene.
Ce ne sarebbero davvero tante di parole che vorrei riportarvi, vi cito giusto un paio delle definizioni che amo di più:

Egocentrico: "Persona di cattivo gusto, che si interessa più di sè che di noi"

Egoista: "Privo di considerazione per l'egoismo altrui"

Pazzia: "Magnifico e lucido tessuto mentale, di cui la sanità è il brutto rovescio"

Lo adoro, ogni tanto mi capita di ricercarlo e di sfogliarlo, e ancora rimango stupita dall'intelligenza e dalla verità in questo libro.

I think I have always loved this book, even before I had it in my bookshelves.
You can read a lot of quotes from it on Internet. Why is this book so important? Because it's brilliant, funny, ironic, smart. True, as irony hides the truth so well.
I would like to report here every quote, but in here just a few of my favourites:

Egotist: "A person of low taste, more interested in himself than in me."

Egotistic: "Lacking of consideration for other people's egotism."

Craziness: "Magnificent and lucid mental tissue, whose sanity is the bad reverse."

I love it, sometimes happens that I reach and turn its pages, and I'm still amazed by the brilliance and truth of this book.
