Per l'ennesima volta non riesco a resistere alla AbEditore e, per farmi un regalino alla notizia della zona rossa in Sardegna, mi sono regalata questo libriccino con un racconto di Elizabeth Gaskell.
Ovviamente, classica qualità altissima della grafica, con le illustrazioni e il font che bene ho imparato a conoscere dopo le tante letture dei libri di questa casa editrice.
E dopo le numerose letture di racconti di fantasmi, mi aggiungo alla lista delle persone, nonchè al retro di copertina, nel notare come siano presenti in queste pagine tutti gli elementi del classico racconto del genere, direi quasi un caso da manuale.
Abbiamo quindi una magione nell'interno dell'Inghilterra, misteriose stanze dove nessuno entra, spettri visibili solo da alcune persone, un segreto conosciuto solo da pochi, una storia antica di vendetta.
Devo dire che la storia mi è piaciuta molto, bellissimo lo stile della Gaskell, molto elegante, anche se, dato il fatto che era abbastanza scontato come sarebbe finita visto come procedeva il racconto e per la presenza degli elementi sopra citati, non ho sentito fortissima la suspence.
Libro corto, si legge in una mattina, ma della AbEditore ne vale sempre la pena.

For the umpteenth time I can't resist AbEditore and, to get myself a little present at the news of the red zone in Sardinia, I bought this little book with a story by Elizabeth Gaskell.
Obviously, the quality of the graphics is very high, with the illustrations and the font that I have come to know well after the many readings of the books of this publishing house.
And after a lot of readings of ghost stories, I add myself to the list of people, as well as to the back cover, in noting how all the elements of the classic tale of the genre are present in these pages, I would say almost a textbook case.
So we have a mansion in the inland of England, mysterious rooms where no one enters, ghosts visible only to a few people, a secret known only to a few, an ancient history of revenge.
I must say that I liked the story very much, Gaskell's style was beautiful, very elegant, even if, given the fact that it was quite obvious how it would end, given how the story proceeded and due to the presence of the elements mentioned above, I did not feel so much the suspense.
Short book, you can read it in one morning, but by AbEditore it's always worth it.
