Per ogni tomba, c'è la foto e un breve spezzone, o una poesia della persona sepolta o un racconto della visita dello scrittore olandese. Molto brevi, ognuno al massimo cinque pagine.

This book has been much desired. On top of all my reading lists. As you can see from the blog page you are reading, born long before the book was published, there is a section titled "The final resting place." But at this point it could also be called "Tumbas". Because is a collection of literary graves. The last houses of the body of who that body itself has used as a tool to create literature.
There are plenty of basic names, many I did not know. There are only three women. But these three women alone are worth as everyone else. Simone de Beauvoir, Virginia Woolf and Susan Sontag.
For each tomb, there is a picture and a short piece, or a poem of the person buried or an account of the visit of the Dutch writer. Very short, each a maximum of five pages.
A thin book, minimal, smart.
A world of past residences.
