In libreria ho i Dialoghi e La luna e i falò e Il mestiere di vivere, il suo diario. Ho cominciato da questi Dialoghi perchè mi sembravano più vicini al mio interesse, parlando di personaggi della mitologia greca.
Oggetto dei dialoghi sono diversi temi, tra cui spiccano predominanti i due caratteri che differenziano gli uomini dagli dei: la morte e l'immortalità.
Siamo tra la realtà umana e quella degli dei, cosa porta gli uni a comportarsi in un modo e gli altri in un altro, cosa cambia un'esistenza che sappiamo finirà mentre quella degli dei non finirà mai.
In ventisei dialoghi, il punto di vista di diversi personaggi mitologici, con le loro vite diverse, le loro esperienze, la loro mortalità e la loro immortalità. Il tutto scritto dalla penna elegante di Cesare Pavese, niente da invidiare agli originali greci.

I must admit that I had never read anything by Pavese yet. Obviously I knew him, it is impossible not to know him, but I had not yet read any of his works.
In my library I have this Dialogues and The moon and the bonfires and The Business of Living: Diaries 1935–1950. I started from the Dialogues because they seemed closer to my interest, speaking of characters from Greek mythology.
The subject of the dialogues are different themes, among which the two characters that differentiate men from gods stand out: death and immortality.
We are between human reality and that of the gods, what leads one to behave in one way and the other in another, what changes an existence that we know will end while that of the gods will never end.
In twenty-six dialogues, the point of view of different mythological characters, with their different lives, their experiences, their mortality and their immortality. All written by Cesare Pavese, nothing to envy to the original Greek story.
