Devo dire però che temo di averne letti troppi ed è forse per questo motivo che questo libro non l'ho trovato eccitante come gli altri. Poe è sempre Poe, gli ingredienti ci sono tutti. Ma io non ho sollevato nessun lenzuolo, non ho temuto niente. E la cosa mi rattrista un po'. Mi sono assuefatta a Poe? Forse ho solo bisogno di un po' di tempo per disintossicarmi e nel frattempo dovrei leggere solo di coniglietti rosa e batuffoli pelosi. Ok, adesso sì che mi spaventerei. Lasciamo solo la questione del tempo.
Comunque, vorrei rassicurare che io consiglio assolutamente Poe a chiunque, lui è il Maestro dei racconti spaventosi... ma se anche voi come me non sentite niente, allora forse è meglio lasciar passare un po' di tempo e riprovare. Mi sembrerebbe di offendere Poe altrimenti, leggere senza sentire niente. No.

I don't know if I really have a literary passion for Edgar Allan Poe. But I need him. I love his short novels, that gloominess, that anxiety, that incredulity. It always happens that I read a book, and at night I am with my sheet up on my nose because I'm afraid there is some monster or bogeyman ready to kill me. And I love that feeling! I must admit I'm afraid I've read too much books by hime and maybe this is the reason why I found this one less excited than the others. Poe is always Poe, the ingredients are all here. But this time I didn't raise any sheet, I wasn't anxious. This makes me sad. Am I got used to him? Maybe I need a little of time to detox my brain and in the mean time reading just about pink fluffy rabbits. Ok, now I'm scared.
Anyway, I suggest Poe to everyone, he is the Master of scary tales. But if you don't feel anything like me, maybe it's better to make the time pass and try again. For me, it's like insulting Poe, reading without feeling. No.
