Se proprio devo essere sincera, ci sono alcuni passaggi in cui sembra che voglia avere ragione, facendo strani giri di parole in cui ci si può perdere. Essayist, intellectual, writer. Susan Sontag was a lot of beautiful things. I decided to begin not with her books, where I can find her completely, but with an interview, where there is her thinking but necessarily diluted and compacted in short answers.
First of all, no intellectual arrogance or individualism. She is a woman who appreciate funny and extroverted people around her, who likes rock music and eat well. But, her point of view is always interesting about any subject.
Photography, herself, maternity, illness, New York, her managing to make it by her own efforts. To be honest, there are few pages in which looks like she wants to have the point, beating weirdly around the bush. As for example, the clichès of living in Boston and in New York.
