Almarina è sicuramente in tutt'altro livello.

I got this book from the library because it is by Valeria Parrella and I had to read it because I love this writer. I read it during a sleepless night and leaving to Turkey with the author, Dolores, Camilla and Carola was a cheerful and pleasant journey, which lasted far too little.
Being a book written by Valeria Parrella, I obviously appreciated the style, the narration, the female figures so close to me, so different but so similar from one another. I particularly loved certain scenes of the protagonists during the road trip, their sensations in entering the churches, in diving into that blue sea... as if I could almost feel the sun on the skin, the beauty of stepping into the water, breathing incense.
But if I have to be honest, I was not fully satisfied. Partly because of the brevity of the story, which took me away for only an hour. An hour well spent, but always too little. I was vaguely irritated by this constant repeating that two friends are Gemini while the other two are Capricorn... as if that explains everything. It is a pleasant, light reading, with the descriptions of these young women that are perhaps a little too glossy, like as friendships in the TV series. Almarina is certainly on a completely different level.
