Impossibile non lasciarsi catturare dalla magia sudamericana, da quest'atmosfera di calore e languidezza e magia. Perchè in questo romanzo c'è tutta l'anima sudamericana, come probabilmente proprio questo romanzo ha contribuito a creare.
Attraversiamo l'intera storia della famiglia Buendìa e di tutti i suoi componenti, dal patriarca Jose Arcadio Buendia e la matriarca Ursula che fondano la città di Macondo; passando attraverso sette generazioni di uomini chiamati Jose Arcadio o Aurealiano e donne dall'animo forte e dalla bellezza sovrumana.
Cornice di tutta la storia e finale spiegazione, la figura magica e onnisciente dello zingaro Melquìades, l'uomo che ha superato varie morti fino a lasciare alla famiglia una raccolta di appunti, che si scopriranno essere scritti in sanscrito, che narrano la storia della famiglia cent'anni dopo.
Gli eventi della famiglia sembrano seguire una sorta di traiettoria circolare, dove tutto torna, dove tornano le personalità nei vari Aureliano e Josè Arcadio, dove ci si lascia infiammare da forti passioni sessuali, dove la conduzione della casa è retta da donne toste e tutte longeve.
La magia, il magico, pervade tutto il romanzo ed è strettamente connesso al quotidiano, tanto che sembrano due piani assolutamente equilibrati tra di loro, quasi normali. Amaranta che predice la sua morte, il fantasma di Prudencio che diventa quasi un amico di colui che lo uccise, i fiori e le farfalle gialle che compaiono alla presenza dell'amore. Per non parlare della salita al cielo di Remedios la Bella, un fatto tra il magico e il mistico.
Un romanzo pieno, un romanzo magico, un romanzo bellissimo.

We go through the story of Buendìa family and of all his members, from the patriarch Jose Arcadio Buendìa and the matriarch Ursula who founded the city of Macondo; passing through seven generations of men called Jose Arcadio or Aureliano and strong and beautiful women.
In the background and final explanation, the magic and omniscient gypsy Melquìades, the man who went beyond several deaths until leaving the family a collection of notes, written in Sanskrit, predicting the story of the family.
The events in the family look like a kind of circular path, where everything returns, the characters of the severals Aureliano and Jose Arcadio, where people let themselves burnt by strong sexual desires, where the family is run by strong and long-lived women.
The magic invade the entire novel and it's bound to the daily life, they look like so complementaries, so normal. Amaranta predicts her death, Prudencio's ghost who becomes a friend of who killed him years ago, yellow flowers and butterflies where there is true love. Not mentioning yet the "Assumption" of Remedios The Beauty, between magic and mysticism.
