Invece, ho trovato un libro molto interessante, in cui ogni colore racconta un pezzo di storia dell'arte e storia sociale, in cui il colore ha veramente influito su quello che siamo e come vediamo il mondo, in senso letterale e in senso storico e sociale.
Una storia mondiale attraverso il colore, dai graffiti rossi delle pitture rupestri, fino ai giorni d'oggi e ai prodigi della tecnica cinematografica.
Un viaggio per approfondire la nostra conoscenza critica e guardare al mondo in maniera più completa. Non si può avere un quadro di Botticelli o di Michelangelo senza precisi riferimenti storici e sociali, perchè fosse stato scelto quel colore, cosa significasse anche per il popolo analfabeta che guarda a quel dipinto e capisce immediatamente chi è e perchè è vestito proprio di quel colore.
E fino a oggi, con un confronto tra il giallo di Giotto e quello dei Simpson. Blasfemo? Non proprio...
Un libro molto interessante anche per chi non è del mestiere come me, che ho comunque apprezzato la spiegazione dell'utilizzo dei vari colori con la situazione storica e culturale del tempo.
E mi perdonerà il signor Falcinelli se ho saltato l'ultima parte, quella davvero troppo tecnica per i miei gusti.
Molto bello, una storia dell'arte diversa da quella studiata a scuola ma sempre molto affascinante.

I did not know what to expect from this book, as design is not exactly my field. And I feared, frankly, that it was too technical.
Instead, I found a very interesting book, in which each color tells a piece of art history and social history, in which color has truly influenced what we are and how we see the world, literally and in the historical and social sense.
A world history through color, from the red graffitis of cave paintings, to the present day and to the wonders of cinematographic technique.
A journey to deepen our critical knowledge and look at the world in a more complete way. You cannot have a painting by Botticelli or Michelangelo without precise historical and social references, why that color was chosen, what it also meant for the illiterate people who look at that painting and understand immediately who it is and why it is dressed in that color.
And until today, with a comparison between Giotto's yellow and Simpson's one. Blasphemous? Not exactly...
A very interesting book for those who are not experts like me, but I have appreciated the explanation of the use of the various colors with the historical and cultural situation of the time.
And Mr. Falcinelli will forgive me if I skipped the last part, that really too technical for me.
Very nice, a different art history from the one studied at school but very fascinating.
