Poi però, il pensiero ci ritornava... insomma, possibile che avesse fatto tutto questo parlare di sè, senza avere alcun tipo di merito. Mi sembrava troppo strano.
E l'ho ripreso. Stavolta in lingua originale. E ho fatto bene.
La storia è interessante e accattivante, Eleanor è un personaggio splendido, il finale non è scontato per niente (e ve lo dice una che ha una minima resistenza ai finali scontati).
La trama è originale e il tema viene trattato con la giusta delicatezza e serietà senza essere cupo e desolante.
Insomma, dopo una (mia) falsa partenza, un romanzo che fa centro. Bellissimo, da leggere.

This book had a two-step story. I've heard about it because when it was released in Italy everybody talked about it and it intrigued me. Then one morning, by bus to go to work, I downloaded the preview of the book to get an idea from the first pages. I read it during the journey and the first impression was not phenomenal... I already imagined what would have been the ending and I found a not so great book, maybe a step above the average.
But then, my mind kept thinking about it... in short, was it possible that it had done all this talking about itself, without having any kind of merit? It seemed too strange.
And I took it back. This time in the original language. And I did well.
The story is interesting and captivating, Eleanor is a splendid character, the final is not predictable at all (and I'm one that has a minimum resistance to the predictable finals).
The plot is original and the theme is treated with the right delicacy and seriousness without being gloomy and bleak.
In short, after a (my) false start, the novel wins. Beautiful, to read.
