Jared Diamond offre tantissimi dettagli e spiegazioni incredibilmente accurate.

It took me a few months to finish this book and, as has happened to me countless times, I wonder how it could possibly have taken all this time because I literally devoured the second half of the book.
Jared Diamond tells, through various examples, the way in which societies of the past have flourished or have decayed, such as the Maya, the Vikings and the Norwegians in Greenland; how in the present some countries, including China and Australia, are evolving and dealing with internal problems; what states can do and what we as individuals can do to protect the environment and make our world prosper... or at least make it survive.
I found very interesting to focus on environmental issues and global warming, although a book released in 2005, already 16 years ago, it is a current topic. There is an invitation to the urgent need to implement measures, policies aimed at protecting the environment, otherwise at a very high price for the entire planet which, as we have seen with the pandemic, is closely connected, one with the others.
Jared Diamond offers tons of accurate details and explanations. It's difficult to be able to assimilate each page of this very rich book to which I will certainly return to consult single chapters.
