This book has been a surprise. At a first sight, I've read the back cover and I was already distrustful, it was stupid and silly. From the first pages, I said "What a stupidity!". The idea of the celebrity who suddenly arrives at the mechanic's house in a French little town was too silly for me. But, going on with the reading, and even if I was trying to convince myself I was bored by the reading, at the end I've devoured this book and I was even moved (but no tears, please) in the last pages.
What can I say? Objectively, this book has what it takes to not like me: a sugary plot, the usual super romantic love story, a main female character I'd like to slap (ok, you have super boobs but if your body doesn't like you there is always surgery to reduce, you never thought?), a second end a little bit ridicolous.
These are the reasons why I can't give an high grade. Beautiful, flowing, but too weaknesses. Or maybe it's me who sees sentimentality everywhere. But the subject so flaunted in the cover, where is the truth, in the body or in the soul, in my opinion is reduced to the hobbyhorse of this woman because of her body (I say it again, if you are so desperate the answer is surgery) and because when he looks at her he really sees just her boobs and her extraordinary resemblance with a famous actress.
Well, more I write this review and more I ask myself how is it possible I appreciated this book...
