Questo libro ripercorre la sua straordinaria carriera nei Servizi Segreti sotto cinque presidenti. Oltre alle vicende di stato, scopriamo il lato più umano dei cinque uomini che hanno ricoperto la carica politica più alta negli USA, e le grandi sfide a cui sono chiamati gli uomini e le donne che li proteggono. Non solo affrontare masse oceaniche accorse per vederli, il pericolo di attentati, i loro stessi personali cambiamenti all'ultimo minuto. Ma soprattutto il fatto che per questi agenti il loro lavoro li porta lontani dalle loro famiglia. spesso l'agente Hill ripete che si sentiva quasi un estraneo in famiglia, che sua moglie e i suoi figli avevano ormai delle abitudini che non lo comprendevano.
Inoltre, per lui, molto peso ebbe il Disturbo Post-Traumatico da Stress da quel maledetto giorno a Dallas. La sua carriera dopo quel giorno ne risentì profondamente.
Ho trovato molto interessante questo tuffo in un passato e in un mondo molto lontano ma insieme tanto presente alla memoria di tutti noi.

That agent is called Clint Hill.
This book recalls his extraordinary journey in the Secret Services for Five Presidents. Beyond the state government, we discover the human side of five men who hold the highest political office in USA, and the great challenges faced by the men and women who protect them. Not just huge crowds rushed to see them, the threat of attacks, the Presidents' personal changes to the protocol at the last minute. But most of all for these agents their job means to be usually far from their families. The agent Hill says that he usually felt like a stranger in his own family, that his wife and sons were used to a life that didn't include him. Also, for him, a huge weight has been the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder from that cursed day in Dallas. His career after that day has been deeply affected.
This rolling back the years is very interesting, a past so distant but still so present in the memory of everyone.
