There was a time, about 10/15 years ago, when I've bought all the books by John Grisham, and of course I read them. I loved his style, the clues, the fact that it was a guarantee of those very high-tension thrillers, between unscrupulous lawyers and horrible murderers.
I like the fact that we are talking about the manuscripts of Francis Scott Fitzgerald, who is one of my favorite writers, and the world of booksellers and especially the rare book market. But, apart from that, the story is fairly flat, the usual final shot is pretty predictable, characters are easily forgotten, including the two protagonists, Mercer and Cable.
In short, a cool thriller for the summer. But certainly not the best Grisham.
