Uno dei più famosi romanzi del terrore, la storia del Conte Dracula e la lotta tra il male e il bene. La figura del vampiro non può che affascinare e questo romanzo è ricco di scene spaventosissime per tutti gli amanti del genere.
Devo ammettere che avevo un'idea di questo libro completamente diverso da quello che poi è davvero. Innanzitutto, ero convinta che l'azione si sarebbe svolta interamente in Transilvania e non sapevo certo che, come dice la copertina della mia edizione, è una delle più grandi storie d'amore di sempre! Ecco, su questo magari non ci metterei la mano sul fuoco, visto che comunque sì c'è un rapporto di coppia ma non è, fortunatamente, il fulcro del libro. E' ambientato nel periodo vittoriano, quindi ricco di grandi proclami, un po' alla maniera del romanzo cortese, ma da qui a definirlo un romanzo d'amore ce ne passa. E per fortuna! Tra scene di fortissimo impatto e da mozzare il fiato e indagini del gruppo di amici votati a distruggere, chi per un motivo chi per l'altro, l'odiato Conte, Dracula è una fantastica lettura, uno di quei romanzi che non si abbandonano, che non hanno nessun momento di pausa o nessun calo di qualità della narrazione.
Ho colmato anche questa lacuna nella mia educazione letteraria, vorrei adesso che tutti i libri che incontro avessero questa qualità!

One of the most famous horror story, the story of the Count Dracula and the struggle between evil and good. The character of the vampire can only fascinate and this novel is full of scary scenes for all lovers of the genre.
I have to admit that I had a completely different idea of this book, of what it really is. First of all, I was pretty sure that the action would take place entirely in Transylvania and I certainly didn't know that, as the cover of my edition says, it is one of the greatest love stories ever! Well, maybe I wouldn't swear on this, since there is a relationship of husband and wife but it isn't, fortunately, the focus of the book. It is set in the Victorian period, therefore full of great proclamations, a bit in the manner of the courteous poetry, but far from being defined as a love novel. And thank God! Between scenes of very strong impact taking your breath away and investigations of the group of friends destined to destroy, who for one reason or another, the hated Count, Dracula is a fantastic reading, one of those novels that one has to finish, who have no moment of pause or any decline in the quality of the narration.
I also filled this gap in my literary education, now I would like all the books I come across to have this quality!
