Ecco il motivo perchè, ancora prima di prenderlo in mano, conoscevo questo libro. E, dopo aver girato l'ultima pagina dopo una giornata di lettura non stop, posso dire che, sinceramente, la denuncia non si doveva fare, assolutamente. Non solo perchè la scena in questione è talmente breve, ma perchè non credo assolutamente che dei ragazzi del liceo del 2014 possano essere davvero così impressionabili. E soprattutto, perchè toglie valore alla lettura di un libro davvero bello. Posso dirlo in tutta franchezza, è un libro meraviglioso. L'ho divorato in nemmeno 12 ore e ne ho amato ogni personaggio e ogni pagina. La storia di Giose e Christian e qualcosa di così bello e romantico e sano che davvero non capisca come si possa pensare di svilirla e ridurla solamente al lato più sessuale. Due personaggi talmente belli, due personaggi di cui si ha bisogno nella letteratura mondiale. Li ho amati così tanto, e amo così tanto la piccola donna Eva, che mi ha quasi spezzato il cuore finire il libro.
Una meraviglia.

Months ago, this book was one of the most popular books in the news in Italy. Bot not because its release or because the writer was at some important literary festival. No. Everyone was talking about it because two teachers of an high-school in Rome suggested it as class-reading. Nothing bad, you'll say. What shocked the public opinion is that in the book there is a scene of homosexual sex and, for this reason, the two teachers have been reported of "Corruption of younger people". The charge, led by two associations of right-wing, then found validation in several movements of extreme right wing, that showed frankly ridicolous banners, and some catholic press.
This is the reason why, shortly before my own reading, I already knew this book. And, after the last page after a day of reading-non-stop, I can say, to be honest, that nobody had to even think of make a charge because of it, absolutely. Not just because the scene is so short that you barely are aware of it, but because I can't believe that students of an high-school in 2014 could be so impressionable. And most of all, because it steals importance to the reading of a beautiful book. I say it frankly, it's a wonderful book. I devoured in not even 12 hours and I loved every single character and page. The love story of Giose and Christian is so beautiful and romantic and upright that I can't really realize how someone can devalue and ruin it, limiting it just to the sexual part. Two beautiful characters, the world literature really need it. I loved them so much, and I love the little woman Eva, finishing this book almost broke my heart.
