175 pagine dedicate a quel giorno, e a come diverse persone lo scrittore immagina l'abbiano vissuto. Metà romanzo, metà saggio. I dipendenti della Casa Bianca, la tata dei bambini Kennedy, l'agente in motocicletta che scorta la macchina presidenziale, il conducente del camioncino delle pompe funebri di Dallas, il signor Zapruder, colui che filmò il momento degli spari. E soprattutto lei, Jackie.
Conoscevo già, ovviamente, molti dei dettagli raccontati. Alcuni, come le foto scattate durante l'autopsia e trovate su Google, mi erano sconosciute. E anche la scelta del luogo della sepoltura.
In questo libro c'è davvero tanto sulla storia di quel giorno maledetto. Ci sono i fatti e ci sono i sentimenti, le reazioni, il cuore di un paese. A 52 anni da quel giorno a Dallas, ancora é impossibile pensarci senza provare dolore.

In many reviews I have expressed my interest about the Kennedy's family and events in which they were protagonists. As you can understand by the title, the main focus of this book is the President's assassination. As you can understand by the cover, the main character, the First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy.
175 pages dedicated to that day, and how several men and women spent that day, as the writer guesses. Half novel, half essay. The employees at the White House, the nanny of Kennedy's children, the policeman on the motorcycle behind the presidential car, the funeral parlours' operator in Dallas, Mr Zapruder, the man who shooted the moment. And most of all, Jackie.
Of course I already knew many details. But were unknown to me the pictures made during the autopsy and found then on Google. And the choice of the burial's place. In this book there is a lot about the story of that terrible day. There are facts and feelings, reactions, the heart of a nation. After 52 years, it's still impossible to think about it without sorrow.
