Owen Quine, scrittore non troppo di successo, è scomparso da una decina di giorni quando la moglie Leonora si rivolge all'investigatore Cormoran Strike. Inizialmente, il caso sembra facile. Un eccentrico scrittore che si nasconde. Strike entra così a contatto con il mondo letterario londinese, tra personaggi irrisolti e vipere nascoste in ogni angolo. Ma un macabro ritrovamento cambierà del tutto il gioco.
Un romanzo ambientato nel mondo letterario, un mondo che la Rowling conosce benissimo. Chissà se poi, in un gioco di rimandi, qualcuno degli scrittori presenti nel romanzo non corrisponda a qualche autore reale. Quello solo lei potrebbe dircelo.
Quello che io posso dire è che il romanzo è bellissimo. Senza se e senza ma. Avvincente, ti cattura, ti trascina. Forse un po' macabro in un certo passaggio. Sempre più spazio prende il personaggio di Robin, l'assistente di Strike. Sua controparte in tutto, quanto lei è bella e gentile, lui è rude, ma con lo stesso intuito e la stessa capacità. Una coppia perfetta.
Non posso fare altro che aspettare il prossimo romanzo di Robert Galbraith.
Ma sto aspettando anche il prossimo romanzo della signora Rowling... lei è fantastica.

I've never had any, but if someone has any doubts about J.K.Rowling's talent (ops, Robert Galbraith), this novel is another proof. I can't help myself to stop reading it, I wanted read it more and more, I've read half book just in one day.
Owen Quine, a (not so much) successfull writer, disappeared by ten days when his wife Leonora calls on the detective Cormoran Strike. Initially, the case seems easy. An eccentric writer who wants to hide himself. Strike goes in close contact with the London literary world, unresolved people and evil persons everywhere. But a macabre finding will change the game.
A novel set in the literary world, a world that Mrs Rowling knows very well. Who knows if then, in a game of memories, anyone of the fictional writers is the image of real-writers. Only questioning her we'll have the answer.
What I can say is that the novel is beautiful. No ifs, ands, or buts. Compelling, catches you, drags you. Maybe a little macabre in some pages. More space takes the character of Robin, assistant of Strike. His counterpart at all, he is rude as she is beautiful and kind, but with the same insight and the same capacity. A perfect match.
I cannot do anything but wait for the next novel by Robert Galbraith.
But I'm also waiting for the next novel by Mrs Rowling... she is fantastic.
