Is it a prequel of Hello Daddy? If in the first one, Claudio and Manlio are told as parents of twins before and of Bartolomeo then, now we read about young Claudio and Manlio, in love and pretty messy.
If my readers know the author a little bit, they already know that fair-haired boy is going to be his husband and the father of their own children. But you can't stop yourself in getting excited and pissed off when he broke with him (several times), and cheering for his (inevitable) coming back.
Happy ending is of course predictable. In the mean time you laugh, a lot, and are moved, so much. At the end it's like the "main characters" are friends, you would comfort them in the sad moments and come up by their side in the happy ones. And, most of all, meeting the great Susanna, because a lot of times during my reading I opened my eyes wide and thought "Oh please, are you joking?"
A funny and touching book together, well written, a reading who goes on rapid and pleasant.
And more you cheer for Claudio and Manlio and their children.
