Innanzitutto l'amore che fa da cornice, quello tra Toby e Anna. Per quanto sia romantico e perfetto, è TROPPO romantico e TROPPO perfetto. Impossibile considerare che davvero esista un amore così, troppo sdolcinato e quasi fastidio. Si arriva a considerare Anna quasi con antipatia,tutta la perfezione con cui viene descritta, sempre perfett anche appena svegliata, sempre amata e adorata da tutti. Viene da tifare per Rachel, la rivale, più umana e sicuramente più simpatica. Non amo mai molto i personaggi troppo perfetti, buoni solo per le telenovelas tedesche che impazzano sui nostri teleschermi.
È questo il problema di questi romanzi. Personaggi femminili troppo buoni e troppo perfetti per risultare credibili ma che solo infastidiscono. Cinicamente, una che aspetta dieci anni con il cuore a pezzi per un uomo risulta solo pesante da sopportare, una a cui le si vorrebbe chiedere " Ma ce l'hai una vita?Ma non ti fa tristezza non riuscire a essere felice anche da sola?Ma bastaaaaaaaaa!!"
La più simpatica?Clare, sicuramente. Una con cui usciresti a cena e a berti qualche drink, una per cui davvero faresti il tifo, una che non rappresenterà mai una lagna, una vera donna!!
Non so se consigliarvi questo libro o no....prendetelo in biblioteca!!

I've read a lot of this kind of book, stories of women and their friendships and loves. I liked a lot of them, a lot less. I have to admit that I didn't like this one, at all. Sure, it's fluid and it misses something.
First of all, love frames, the one between Toby and Anna. But, as far as it is romantic and perfect, it's too romantic and too perfect. It's impossibile to believe that this kind of love really exists, too mushy and almost annoying. The point is that you consider Anna with dislike, all this perfection, always perfect still when she is just awake, everybody loves and adores her. I supported Rachel, the enemy, more "human" and for sure nicer. I don't really love perfect characters, they're good just for German soap opera.
This is the problem with this kind of novels. Female characters too good and too perfect to being believable, they just annoy the reader. In a cynical way, a woman who wait a man for ten years with a broken heart is heavy, you would ask her "Do you have a life? Isn't it so sad for yourself is not able to be happy by alone? Stoooooop!"
Clare is better, for sure. I'd like to go out for dinner with her and have some drink, I'd support her, she is never a moaner, she is a real woman!
I don't know if I manage to suggest this book... take it to the library for free, if you really want to read it!
