Ecco, diciamo che più o meno il succo di questo libro è questo. Carolin è appena rimasta vedova del marito Karl, morto a 51 anni per un infarto. Carolin ha un quoziente intellettivo da genio, parla cinque lingue, suona il cembalo e il mandolino. E per questo nessuno, fino all'arrivo di Karl, l'ha mai amata veramente per quello che è. Sicuramente non Leo, l'ex fidanzato di Carolin, che per uno strano gioco del destino è anche il figlio di Karl. E la sua ex famiglia non la vede più proprio di buon occhio...
Un romanzo che mi è piaciuto tantissimo, sarà perchè è davvero divertente e ironico, sarà perchè la protagonista mi ha subito ispirato simpatia. L'unica cosa che non ho apprezzato tantissimo è stato il finale, mi aspettavo sinceramente qualcosa di più, più azione, più romanticismo... ma forse è più reale così, nella vita vera i grandi finali e i grandi colpi di scena difficilmente si hanno subito.
Ho scoperto, inoltre, che l'autrice ha scritto una trilogia molto apprezzata... sono molto curiosa di leggerla perchè la scrittura di Kerstin Gier è molto interessante e da seguire.

Another subject I usually find in the book I read is the life after widowhood. In general, the widow is a a young woman still attractive that, after the usually unexepcted death of her love, goes downhill, is close to a bad depression, but step by step gets it over thanks to her family and especially to a new love young and good-looking. Of course, she always discovers some secrets about her former husband and deals with his cruel family.
Well, more or less this is the plot of this book.
Carolin is just widowed of Karl, dead at 51 years age for an heart attack. Carolin has a Genius QI, she speaks five languages, plays cymbal and mandolin. Nobody, till Karl, ever loved her as she is. For sure, not Leo, the Carolin's former boyfriend and Karl's son. And his family not looks kindly upon her.
A novel that I really like, it is really funny and ironic, and I adore the main character. Just one thing I didn't appreciate much, the ending, I was waiting for more action, more romanticism... but maybe it is more real, in the real life the happy endings and the twist of plot are uncommon. I discovered that the writer has written an appreciate trilogy... I am very curious to read it because I really like her way to writing.
