Gli ultimi libri che ho letto della Kinsella mi avevano lasciato un po' cosí. Devo ammettere che il ciclo di I love Shopping non mi ha mai annoverato tra le fan, in quanto ho sempre pensato che la protagonista fosse una tonta completa (Sorry Sophie!!). Poi ci fu un libro sempre sul matrimonio, e anche a quello diedi una stella, se non erro.
Ma questo qui... Questo libro é diverso.
É divertente, ben scritto, intelligente. Le protagoniste femminili sono credibili e ben disegnate, i personaggi maschili sono perfetti per loro. Nessuno é troppo perfetto, nessuno é un tonto completo (Di nuovo Sorry, Sophie). Il lieto fine c'é e non é niente di stucchevole o troppo artificioso. É semplice ma molto romantico.
Insomma, libro carinissimo, consigliatissimo!

 The last books by Sophie Kinsella I've read let me a bit disappointed. I'm not a fan of the Shopaholic saga, maybe because for me the main character, Becky, is a dumb idiot (sorry Sophie!). Then a book about a girl getting married very soon and then she forgets about this "detail", and I gave it one star too.
But this one... this one is different.
It's funny, well written, smart. The female characters are believable and well-described, the male characters are perfect. Nobody is too perfect, nobody is a dumb idiot (sorry again, Sophie!). The happy ending isn't mushy or too overblown. It's simple but very romantic.
So, super nice book, I suggest it!

Devo ammettere che devo ancora capire questo libro.
L'ho iniziato spinta dalle recensioni ultra positive, ognuna delle quali lo eleggeva libro dell'anno in ogni categoria. Non so, forse non l'ho capito perfettamente avendolo letto in lingua originale. O forse, non sono parte di questo movimento di gente entusiasta.
É un libro strano. Saunders ha una scrittura molto strana. I suoi racconti sono surreali. Ci sono laboratori fantascientifici e donne che vengono usate come decorazioni nei giardini. Ma ci sono anche ragazzini alle prese con la violenza inaspettata e eroi di guerra che tornano a casa e si ritrovano a dover ricostruire la propria esistenza. Insomma, c'é veramente un mondo super variegato.
Non lo definirei un libro bello, perché per me la bellezza di un libro é un'altra cosa. Ma é strano. É surreale. Rimane dentro la mente. Forse invece, é bello.

 I'm struggling to understand this book.
I started it after a lot of positive reviews, and it was at the highest-ranking in every classification. I don't know, maybe I didn't completely understand it because I've read it in its original language. Or maybe, I'm one of those readers who aren't very impressed by this book. It's a weird book. Saunders has a really weird writing. His short stories are surreal. There are futuristic labs and women used as garden decorations. But there are also kids struggling with unexpected violence and back home veterans who struggle to recreating their own life. So, there is a very variegated world.
It's not a beautiful book, beauty in books in my opinion is another thing. But it's weird. And surreal. It stays in your mind. Maybe, it's beautiful.

Oggi mi sento di consigliarvi un libro molto divertente. Mettiamo da parte i mattoni filosofici e i grandi classici, concediamoci un bel libro divertente e spiritoso.
Marie é una ragazza tedesca a cui al momento la vita non sorride tantissimo. Ha appena lasciato il fidanzato all'altare, é grassottella, il padre si é appena innamorato di una bielorussa di trent'anni più giovane e l'amatissima sorella ha un tumore al cervello. La mattina dopo il suo "matrimonio" non é proprio di buon umore, ma un falegname particolarmente "divino" riuscirà a farle cambiare idea! Peccato per un futuro suocero non proprio accomodante e la prospettiva di dover affrontare momenti molto duri se Marie va avanti con il suo amore, momenti paragonabili a quattro terrificanti cavalieri dai nomi rassicuranti in groppa a cavalli di fuoco... E se ci mettete in mezzo anche Emma Thompson e George Clooney capite che la situazione é quanto meno bizzarra.
Si ride molto, si ripassa un po' di religione e si parteggia spudoratamente per Marie. Bel romanzo da uno scrittore che già lessi e che sempre mi fece ridere.

 Today I suggest you a superfunny book. We put aside philosophical heavy books and classics, let's have a funny reading.
Marie is a German girl. At this moment, her life is not very nice. She's just left her boyfriend right when they were in the church getting married, she is fat, her father fell in love with a     Byelorussian girl (younger of thirty years) and her sister has a brain tumor. The morning after "her wedding" she is not in a very good mood, but a "divine" carpenter will be able to change her mind! Pity that her future father-in-law is not very accommodating and that she has to struggle with very hard times to stay with him, times compared to four terrifyng cavaliers with "reassuring" names, riding fire horses... And if there are Emma Thompson and George Clooney too, you can understand the situation is becoming pretty bizarre.
You'll laugh a lot, you'll review religion and take the side of Marie. Nice novel from a writer who always makes me laugh.

Io davvero non so che cosa gli fa J.K.Rowling alle pagine dei libri che scrive. Non voglio scomodare ancora Harry Potter, presumo che pure lei si sarà stancata di questo nome, ma nella sua scrittura c'é magia. Un immenso talento per la scrittura.
Il Richiamo del Cuculo é un giallo. Lula Landry é la modella più famosa del momento, amatissima dai fan e strapagata dalle case di moda. Una fredda notte, viene ritrovata morta di fronte a casa sua, nell'elegante quartiere londinese di Mayfair. Dopo le dovute indagini, il caso viene archiviato come un suicidio. Ma il fratello di lei non ci crede e assume un investigatore privato. Cormoran Strike e la sua assistente, Robin, si mettono subito al lavoro, e nel mondo dei belli, ricchi e famosi scopriranno che molto spesso la risposta giusta non é quella più facile...
Giuro che ho adorato questo libro. L'ho divorato in 24 ore, non riuscivo a staccarmene. Dovevo sapere chi aveva ucciso Lula, avevo fatto tutte le mie supposizioni, avevo i miei sospettati. La Rowling si é dimostrata una maga anche nel genere giallo, tessendo una trama davvero intricata, assolutamente credibile e perfetta.
Adesso sarei davvero curiosa di sapere da chi ha preso spunto per i suoi personaggi. Allora, avanzo qualche ipotesi: il padre di Cormoran mi ricorda Mick Jagger, tante donne e tanti figli, una carriera da star del rock e tanti soldi. Lula e il fidanzato Evan mi ricordano Kate Moss e Pete Doherty, senza ovviamente il finale tragico della modella del libro. Anche se a pensarci potrebbe esserci anche un pizzico di Amy Winehouse e il marito in tutto ciò... Ma il fatto é che ogni parola di questo libro é frutto dell'immenso talento della Rowling, della sua capacità di scrivere come nessun'altra. E io adesso conterò i giorni aspettando il sequel di questo libro... E vabbé, sì, anche la trilogia di film ispirati al mondo di Harry Potter che sta preparando.

 I really don't know how J.K.Rowling can write so good. I don't want calling for Harry Potter, I think she is really tired of this name too, but in her writing there is magic. A huge talent for writing.
The Cuckoo's Calling is a crime novel. Lula Landry is the most famous top model right now, beloved by her fans and overpaid by fashion designers. In a cold night, she is found dead in front of her apartment, in the posh mayfair neighbourhood, in London. After the police investigations, the death is filed as a suicide. But her brother doesn't believe it and hires a private investigator. Cormoran Strikes and his assistant, Robin, get immediately at work, and in the world of rich and famous will discover that usually the right answer is not the easiest one...
I swear I loved this book. I devoured it in a day, I couldn't stop reading it. I had to know who killed Lula, I did my conjectures, I had my suspects. Mrs Rowling is great in writing crime novels too, weaving a so intricate web, believable and perfect.
Now I'm very curious to know from who she was inspired for her characters. Then, I can promote some names: the father of Cormoran reminds me Mick Jagger, a lot of women and children, a very rich rockstar. Lula and her boyfriend Evan are Kate Moss and Pete Doherty, but of course without the tragic end. Well, they could be Amy Winehouse and her husband too... But the truth is that in every word of this book there is only the huge talent of Mrs Rowling, her unique writing. And I'm counting the days for the next book... Well, ok, I'm doing it too for the trilogy of movies inspired by the world of Harry Potter she is writing right now.

É un periodo che ho una cotta decisamente platonica e molto intellettuale per Francis Scott Fitzgerald. Sto divorando ogni libro che possa parlare di lui e essere scritto da lui. La sua storia personale e il suo matrimonio con Zelda non hanno più segreti per me.
Mi sono ricordata di avere uno dei suoi più famosi racconti in ebook e, ovviamente, l'ho praticamente divorato in un paio d'ore.
Pur non avendolo mai visto, avevo più o meno in mente il film, mi ricordavo che c'era un grande amore di mezzo... Bene, sappiate che il film non c'entra praticamente niente con il libro originale. Il racconto é più attinente a quella che dovrebbe essere, a mio avviso, la vita reale di una persona "speciale" come Benjamin. Ci sono i "normali" problemi della vita di una persona che si ritrova a nascere ottantenne e muore infante. É più reale, per quanto possa essere reale una storia così straordinaria. Insomma, come al solito, il film non rende mai onore al libro.
É una lettura breve ma molto carina, divertente, assolutamente godibile. Il "mio" Scott non avrebbe potuto fare di meno :)

 In these months, I have a huge and definitely platonic and intellectual crush for Francis Scott Fitzgerald. I am devouring any book about him or written by him. His personal life and his marriage with Zelda haven't any secret for me now. I realized I have one of his more famous tale in my e-reader and, of course, I devoured it in a few hours.
Even if I have never watched it, I know the movie and I remember that there was a kind of great love... Well, the book has nothing to do with the movie. The tale is more related to how, in my opinion, would be the real life of a "special" man like Benjamin. There are the "normal" problem in the life of a man who is born at the age of 80, and dies "newborn". It's more real, as far as can be real this extraordinary tale. As usual, the movie doesn't honor the book.
It's a short but very nice reading, funny, absolutely enjoyable. "My" Scott is the best :)

Non so bene per quale motivo abbia deciso di prendere questo libro dalla biblioteca e leggerlo. Sarà perchè quando trovo le parole "società letteraria" non posso fare a meno di essere curiosa. Sarà che è ambientato nella mia amatissima Londra, sarà che la protagonista ha pressochè la mia età, o forse tutte queste ragioni insieme. Sta di fatto che ho fatto bene!
Il libro è davvero delizioso, ben scritto, interessante, assolutamente divertente e geniale!
La storia è ambientata nel 1946, l'Inghilterra si sta riprendendo dopo la Seconda Guerra Mondiale, ognuno cerca di tornare a vivere. A londra, la scrittrice Juliet Ashton è impegnata nel tour promozionale del suo precedente libro e sta cercando il soggetto per un nuovo romanzo. Ad aiutarla, arriva la lettera di uno sconosciuto che le chiede aiuto per trovare un certo libro e che le racconta la nascita e l'avvio di una società letteraria nell'isola di Guernsey. La curiosità avrà la meglio e Juliet scoprirà un nuovo mondo che cerca di rialzarsi dopo l'occupazione tedesca, nuovi amici e storie di coraggio e bontà... e tutto questo stravolgerà la sua vita in modi che nemmeno lei avrebbe immaginato.
Il libro, come ho già detto, è assolutamente delizioso, lo consiglio assolutamente! Adoro Juliet, così fresca, e dolce e moderna e fantastica! Vi innamorerete anche voi pazzamente di lei e dei suoi amici, tutti quanti, il protettivo Sidney, la stralunata Isola, la piccola Kit, la coraggiosa Elizabeth. Perfetto.
La scrittrice è morta prima di vedere il suo libro negli scaffali, e prima di vederlo diventare un bestseller. Beh, spero che ovunqua sia, le arrivi il mio ringraziamento per aver scritto questo piccolo capolavoro.

 I'm not quite sure why I decided to get this book on loan by the library and read it. Maybe because I cannot help but being curious when I find the words "literary society". Maybe because it's set in my so loved London, maybe because the main characters has the same age of me, or maybe for all these reasons together. In any case, it's written very well!
The book is absolutely adorable, well-written, interesting, so funny and brilliant.
The story starts in the 1946, England is recovering after the Second World War, everybody is trying to get back at a normal life. In London, the writer Juliet Ashton is busy with her promotional tour of her previous book and is looking for the subject of her next one. To help her, arrives the letter of a stranger asking for help to find a book. He tells her about the birth and life of a literary society in the isle of Guernsey. The curiosity gains the upper hand and Juliet will discover a new world trying to recovering after the German occupation, new friends and stories of bravery and goodness... this world will revolutionize her life in unimaginable ways.
The book, as I said, is so adorable, I strongly suggest it! I love Juliet, so lively, and sweet and modern and great! You will fall in love with her and her friends, the protective Sidney, the dazed Isola, the young Kit, the brave Elizabeth. Perfect.
The writer died before she could see her book in the bookstores, and before it becomes a bestseller. Well, I hope that everywhere she is now, she could receive my huge thank you for this little masterpiece.

Se dovessi dare un voto numerico a questo libro sarebbe un sei molto risicato.
L'idea iniziale è bella, adoro i libri che coniugano insieme cultura  e mistero e che riescono a costruire una ragnatela di misteri intorno a grandi personalità e opere d'arte. Per dire, Dan Brown, per quanto sia commerciale e tutto quello che volete, in questo caso è un maestro. Per quello ho apprezzato molto l'idea iniziale ed è stata anche il motivo per cui ho scelto questo libro. I problemi vengono dopo, in fase di sviluppo dell'idea. I continui accenti molto tecnici alla tecnologia li ho trovati noiosi e pesanti, i personaggi invece vanno bene, a parte quella insopportabile Miss-So-Tutto-Io Kat (avevo ragione!). L'unico problema è davvero questa parte centrale che, secondo la mia opinione, risultava pesante e lenta. Bella invece la parte finale e molto bella l'idea finale che racchiude il segreto del libro (alla faccia tua Kat). Davvero molto molto apprezzata.
Insomma, nel complesso belle la prima e l'ultima parte, mentre quella centrale non mi è piaciuta granchè, sarà perchè tutto l'argomento tecnologico e informatico un po' mi annoia. Ed è anche il motivo per cui Kat mi sta proprio sulle scatole... lei e la sua maglietta rossa da nerd. Comunque, scusate ma adesso devo andare a controllare se davvero esiste quel "soggetto movente" di cui si parla nel libro, una cosa fighissima che infatti troverete nell'ultima parte.

 If I would have to give a grade to this book it would be a very narrow passing grade.
The idea is pretty nice, I love books combining culture and mistery and that build a web of misteries surrounding great personalities and artworks. Just for example, Dan Brown, much as popular and all you want, he is a Master. This is the reason why I really appreciated the idea and this is the reason why I picked this book. After come the problems, in developing this idea. A lot of boring technological references; the characters are fine, except that so annoying Miss-I-Know-Everything Kat (I was right!). The only problem is that this central part that, in my opinion, is boring and slow. I like the final part and it's very nice the final idea who keeps the secret of the book (In your face, Kat!). I have really really appreciated it!
So, I liked the first and the last part, I didn't like at all the central part, maybe because the technological subject bores me a bit. And this is the reason why Kat pisses me off... her and that stupid nerdy red shirt. But, sorry, I gotta go to check if that "moving thing" in the book really exists, a super cool thing you will find in the last part.

Nella prima puntata di questa rubrica vi ho mostrato la tomba di colui che scrisse dell'importanza di ricordare e onorare le grandi menti attraverso il luogo dove il loro corpo riposa. Per la seconda puntata, vi mostro il luogo dove riposa il corpo del più grande drammaturgo e poeta inglese, un uomo la cui memoria non morirà mai...


Dopo una vita di teatro e successi a Londra, Shakespeare si ritira a passare gli ultimi anni della sua vita nella sua città natale, Stratford Upon Avon. E' qui che muore, il 23 aprile 1616, il giorno di quello che dovrebbe essere il suo 52esimo compleanno. 
Viene sepolto nella chiesa parrocchiale, la Holy Trinity Church, dietro il pagamento di 440 sterline, una somma ingente per allora ma alla portata di un uomo come il Bardo.
Sulla sua tomba vi è scritto:

Good friend, for Jesus' sake forbear,
To dig the dust enclosed here.
Blest be the man that spares these stones,
And cursed be he that moves my bones.

 Caro amico, per l'amor di Gesù astieniti,
dallo smuovere la polvere qui contenuta.

Capita che a volte i libri ti arrivano nel momento in cui ne hai più bisogno, come dei veri e propri doni dal cielo. Questo libro é arrivato in uno di quei momenti. Ero triste e depressa e mi sono rivolta alla mia biblioteca preferita nella speranza di trovare qualche libro che non mi facesse pensare. Avevo tre libri in mente che volevo leggere già da un po' ma, incredibilmente, nessuno dei tre era disponibile. A prima vista, avevo escluso questo perché non volevo leggere il solito libro banale, invece poi mi sono convinta a prenderlo.
Feci benissimo! L'idea della lista dei desideri era proprio quello di cui avevo bisogno e la protagonista sembra proprio fatta apposta per me, ha addirittura anche la mia stessa età. L'ho divorato in un giorno, non riuscivo a smettere di leggere.
La storia é molto toccante ma senza essere triste, l'ironia della protagonista (e della scrittrice, ovviamente) riempie il libro e lo rende più leggero. É bello assistere alla crescita di Brett, ai suoi tentativi, alle sue cadute ma soprattutto alle sue vittorie. E l'idea della lista é poetica e ispiratrice, ne ho fatta anche io una cosí. Aspettando di veder spuntare un cappotto Burberry anche sulla mia strada!

 Sometimes happens that books arrive in that moment when you need them more, like a boon. This book arrived in my life in one of those moments. I was sad and depressed and I went in my favourite library hoping to find some book that makes me not thinking about my life. I had the titles of three books from my to-read-list but, unbelievably, they weren't available. At a first sight, I had said no to this one because looked like ordinary, but at the end I took it.
I did it very well!! The idea of the Life List was exactly what I needed and the main character fits so well to me, she is the same age too. I devoured it in a day, I couldn't stop to read.
The story is very touching without being sad, the wit of the main character (and of the writer, of course) fills up the book and makes it lighter. It's beautiful participate to Brett's development, her attempts, her falls but especially her victories. And the idea of the list is so poetical and inspirational, that I made it one for myself. Waiting the appearance of a Burberry coat in my life!

Negli ultimi tempi ho sviluppato una certa noia verso le commedie romantiche.  Questo mio sentimento era dovuto a due motivi principali: l'anno scorso ne feci il pieno (e potete averne prova dal numero di recensioni dedicate ai facenti parte la categoria); e soprattutto, dal mio essere eternamente single e dall'averne quindi abbastanza di smancerie altrui e di grandi storie d'amore ultra sdolcinate, anche se i protagonisti sono personaggi immaginari.
Ma c'é sempre un'eccezione alla regola. In questo caso, é questo libro qui.
Era nella mia lista da tempo immemore, ma in biblioteca pareva costantemente già prenotato. Circa all'inizio di quest'anno, venne pure messo al prezzo scontatissimo di 5,99€... Pensai di prendermelo e togliermi sto sfizio una volta per tutte, ma ero già entrata nel personaggio del Grinch dell'amore, e decisi di aspettare che si liberasse in biblioteca. E credo di aver fatto bene.
Sì insomma, sarà per il tempo di attesa, ma mi aspettavo decisamente qualcosa in più.
Darcy vive e lavora a Londra, dove fa la giornalista per una rivista femminile. É ossessionata dallo shopping e dalle feste glamour, e il suo peggior incubo si avvera quando a una festa la sua capa indossa il suo stesso vestito firmato. Al funerale della amata zia Molly, scopre di aver ricevuto in eredità un ingente somma di denaro e niente di meno che un'isola al largo dell'Irlanda. Per entrare in possesso della sua eredità, però, c'é una regola decisamente tosta per una ragazza abituata alla vita londinese... E i primi tempi saranno davvero duri.
L'idea di partenza é carina e io adoro l'Irlanda ma ci sono alcune cose che mi lasciano un po' così. Innanzitutto, l'ennesima protagonista che si rivela se stessa e trova la felicità solo quando si libera di tacchi, vestiti firmati e altro e va vestita in jeans e felpa ogni giorno... Ho capito che l'esteriorità non é tutto ma questo cliché non é un po' vecchio? É già il secondo libro in poco tempo in cui ci sia una ragazza soggetta a delle clausole di un testamento per ottenere la propria eredità... Cos'é, un nuovo topic letterario? Ma soprattutto... Ho capito chi era colui con cui sarebbe finita Darcy esattamente tre righe dopo che era entrato in scena. Sono io che ormai sono una lettrice smaliziata e capisco tutto subito o davvero hanno dimenticato tutti l'effetto sorpresa?
Il libro sarebbe anche carino ma é simile a molti altri...

 In the last time I think I developed a kind of boredom for the romances. My feeling can be explained in two ways: last year, I filled my bookshelves with them (and in fact, there a lot of reviews on them); and more, my being always single and I have enough of sweet nothings and super mushy love stories, even though the main characters are fictional. But there is always an exception to rule. For me and my feelings, this book.
It was in my list from a very long time, but in the library it looked like permanently already reserved. At the begin of this year, I found it sold super reduced at 5.99 euros. So, I've thought to take it and buying it on a whim, but I was already The Grinch of Love, and decided to wait for it in the library. I think I did it well.
Maybe for the long wait, but I imagined something more.
Darcy lives and works in London, she is a journalist for a magazine. She is obsessed by shopping and glamourous parties, and her worst nightmare becomes real when, at a party, she is dressed exactly like her boss. To the funeral of the loved Aunt Molly, she discovers she has inherited a huge amount of money and no less than an Irish island. But, to come into possession of her estate, there is an hard rule to a Londinian girl... and the first days are going to be very hard!
The conception is nice and I love Ireland but there are some things letting me a bit so. First of all, the umpteenth main character who find herself when she frees herself by heels, labeled dresses and wears everyday just jeans and sweaters... I know that the outward appearence isn't important but isn't this a bit old cliche? It's already the second book with a main character under the rules of a will to get her inheritance, is it a new literary topic? But above all... I understood who was her man exactly three lines after he makes his entrance. Am I a shrewd reader and understand everything soon or everybody forgot the effect surprise?
The book is very nice but it's so similar to a lot of others...

Avete presente quando si dice perchè non si capisce come faccia una persona a vendere stramilioni di copie dei suoi libri a gente che lo seguirebbe anche se decidesse di convertirsi a qualche setta? Bene, chiedetelo a Dan Brown. Lui è perfetto. Lui è colui che riesce a farmi fare le nottate sui suoi libri, riesco a leggere tomi di 522 pagine in meno di 48 ore, avendo anche cura di vivere. Mentre leggo i suoi libri ho sempre affianco wikipedia per vedere in tempo reale i posti di cui parla e ogni volta, anche se pensi che non possa esistere un posto così, esiste. Sono sconvolta dalla genialità dei suoi libri e dalla perfezione degli incastri, mettere insieme storia, letteratura, arte, cioè, quello che al mondo amo di più. E Dan Brown riesce a mescolare questi ingredienti in modop perfetto e a creare dei capolavori.
Inferno è il quarto libro che vede protagonista il professore Robert Langdon. Si ritrova a Firenze senza sapere nemmeno come ci è arrivato, sa solo che ha una ferita sulla testa, e che quando è arrivato all'ospedale diceva solo "very sorry... very sorry". Da questo punto, il professore esperto di Simbologia dovrà affrontare qualcosa di assolutamente spaventoso, qualcosa paragonabile solo all'Inferno dantesco...
Robert Landgdon è esattamente quel genere di uomo che vorrei conoscere e con cui vorrei passare la vita. La sua sveglia intelligenza, la sua cultura, il suo essere sempre così maledettamente interessante... come si fa a non amarlo? Io ne sono pazza. E sì, lo so che per quanto riguarda Dan Brown e la sua creatura sono assolutamente di parte, e ne vado molto fiera.

 Can you recall when people can't understand how some writers can sell billions of books to people who will follow him/her everywhere, even though he would decide to join any cult? Well, ask Dan Brown. He is so perfect. He is The One, able to make me do nights awake on his books, I can read volumes of 522 pages in less than 48 hours. When I read this book, I always keep Wikipedia open to watch the places he tells about and everytime, even though you're sure they don't exist, they do. I'm shocked by the brilliance of his books and the perfection of the joints, putting together history, lierature, art, actually, what I love more in the world. And Dan Brown is able to mix all these ingredients up in a perfect way and to create masterpieces.
Inferno is the fourth book with Robert Langdon as main character. He wakes up in Florence without knowing how he arrived there, he just knows he has a wound on his head and when he arrived at the hospital the only words he said were "very sorry... very sorry". From this point, the professor, specialist in Symbolism, will have to deal with something really scary, something comparable just to the Dante's Inferno...
Robert Langdon is exactly the kind of man I'd like to meet and spend my life. His perspicacity, his culture, his being always so damn interesting... I love him! I'm madly in love with him. And yes, I know I'm partisan about Dan Brown and his book, and I'm proud of it.

Questo libro occhieggiava verso di me ormai da un bel po' ogni volta che andavo in biblioteca, e finalmente un giorno ho deciso di prenderlo. In realtà, non aveva molte chance che lo prendessi.
Sono un po' scettica riguardo al tema delle esperienze extra corporee. Non sono facilmente suggestionabile con queste storie, e questo libro ne é la conferma.
La storia é quella raccontata in prima persona dal dottor Alexander, neurochirurgo. Egli racconta che, durante un periodo di sette giorni in cui si trovava in coma profondo, ha avuto un esperienza extra corporea. Disse di essersi trovato in una sorta di Utero Cosmico, dove ogni sensazione era "amplificata" e dove aveva incontrato una sorta di angelo con le ali di farfalla e soprattutto, dove aveva potuto sentire e conoscere Dio.
Ovviamente il libro é più dettagliato di così, e inoltre racconta dell'apporto fondamentale della sua famiglia e del tramite di un'amica della moglie, una sensitiva, che é riuscita a captare dei segnali.
Vorrei poterci credere perché la descrizione dell'altro mondo é così bella e particolareggiata ma proprio non ci riesco. Non riesco davvero a non essere scettica di fronte a certe dichiarazioni e a chiedermi se non sia tutta una fantasia dell'autore. Probabilmente c'é qualcosa dall'altra parte, non é certo la prima testimonianza che sento, ma mi chiedo cosa davvero ci sia sotto. Il fatto che sia la verità di un neurochirurgo, un uomo con delle conoscenze superiori della mente umana rispetto alla maggioranza di noi, probabilmente mi mette qualche dubbio in più... Ma lo scetticismo rimane.

 This book peeped out at me everytime I went to the library, and at the end one day I decided to take it. To be honest, it didn't have a lot of possibilites to be taken. I'm a bit skeptical about extracorporal experiences. I'm not easily impressionable with these stories, and this book is the proof.
The story is told by Dr Alexander, neurosurgeon, himself. He tells that, during seven days of coma, he had an extracorporal experience. He tells he was in a kind of Cosmic Womb, where every feeling was heightened and where he met an angel with butterflies wing and especially, where he listened and knew God.
Of course the book is more detailed of this my brief review, and more tells about the fundamental contribution of his family and especially the help of his wife's friend, a medium, who was able to pick up his signs.
I would like to believe in this things because the description of the "Other World" is so beautiful and detailed but really I can't. I am skeptical in front of these releases and I am not quite sure if it is or not an author's fantasy. Probably, there is something on the other side, it's not the first release I read about, but I'd like to know what's really behind all these statements. It's the "truth" of a neurosurgeon, a man with better knowledge of human mind than the rest of us, it makes me a bit doubtful... But I am still skeptical.

Reduci ormai tutti quanti dall'indigestione dovuta a "50 sfumature di...", ho deciso che mi meritavo della letteratura erotica di prima qualità. E così, uno dei primi ebook che ho deciso di comprare é stato "I magnifici sette capolavori della letteratura erotica" edito dalla Newton Compton. É una bellissima collezione di sette romanzi di grandi autori, tutti con argomento l'erotismo. Il primo é di Denis Diderot, e narra la storia di Thérèse, delle sue vicissitudini e delle sue avventure. La protagonista appare come una giovane ingenua, interessata alla filosofia e alla religione. Nel corso delle sue vicende, incontra vari personaggi che, con la scusa di spiegarle la vita, le insegnano anche parecchie altre cose... C'é da dire che probabilmente il romanzo é influenzato da quelle che erano le usanze di quel periodo in Francia. Le narrazioni sono alquanto esplicite e poco e niente é lasciato all'immaginazione. Il tutto però senza mai essere assolutamente volgare. C'é una sorta di eleganza tutta francese in questo romanzo, quasi una naturalezza disinvolta con un pizzico di pruderie. Comunque assolutamente una lettura interessante,  interessante pure dal punto di vista culturale, in quella che é sempre un'espressione del comportamento umano e di come, a seconda del tempo e dello spazio, assume caratteristiche proprie. Molto interessante, adesso sono proprio curiosa di leggere anche gli altri romanzi della raccolta.

Survivors by the Phenomenon "50 shades of...", I decided I deserve first-class erotic literature. So, one of the first ebooks I decided to buy was "The extraordinary seven masterpieces in erotic literature" by Newton Compton. It's a beautiful collection of seven novels by great writers, and the subject is eroticism. The firs one is written by Denis Diderot, and tells about the story of Thérèse, her vicissitudes and life. The main characters looks like a naive young girl, interested in philosophy and religion. She meets several kinds of people that, pretending have the interest to explain her life, explain them a lot of other kind of things... Well, the novel is probably affected by the customs and traditions of those years in France. The expository writings are pretty explicit and little or no is left to the imagination. But everything is never gross. There is a kind of French elegance in this novel, like a self-confident candor with a bit of prudery. Anyway, an interesting reading, interesting by the cultural point of view too, because this is an expression of human nature too and how, depending on the time and space, has its own peculiarities. Very interesting, I'm really curious to read the other novels in the collection.
