E invece questo libro mi è piaciuto. Perché Helen, la protagonista, è meravigliosa. Perché la scrittura della signora Schine è scorrevole e avvincente. Perché i personaggi di contorno sono tutti eccentrici e deliziosi. Adesso mi toccherà leggerne altri della signora Schine... Così poco appropriata per me ma così irresistibile? Forse questo romanzo è la mia lettera d'amore.

This book would have had all the credentials to dislike me. The usual story of a woman whose shop is the center of a small town... from Chocolat in first and then, how many there were? And in general are always books or sweets. Then, she who, through a kind of randomness, falls in love with a totally inappropriate guy, love story that usually is then the greatest love for both.
But I liked this book. Because Helen, the main character, is wonderful. Because the writing of Mrs. Schine is flowing and exciting. Because the supporting characters are all quirky and delightful. Now I'll read more by Ms. Schine... is she so little appropriate for me but so irresistible? Perhaps this novel is my love letter.
