Rimaneva lì, in paziente attesa del momento giusto. Momento che io ritardavo, convinta che fosse qualcosa di totalmente diverso. Pensavo fosse una serie di saggi sui sogni, sulla speranza. Qualcosa di molto letterario e narrativo. Invece, nei piccoli saggi in cui è composto questo libro c'è moltissima realtà. Sono pensieri, discorsi, ricordi della vita politicamente attiva di Sepulveda. C'é la storia del Cile, ci sono le lotte politiche, ci sono tutti i protagonisti: Pinochet e Michelle Bachelet su tutti. Ci sono alleati e nemici, ci sono amici scomparsi e le madri dei desaparecidos. C'è la storia di una nazione e le sue enormi contraddizioni.
È un libro molto interessante, pieno di tanto, totalmente diverso da quello che mi aspettavo. Dopo dieci mesi che aspettava, in due giorni l'ho letto. Mi sono ricreduta. Avrei voluto averlo letto prima, ma forse come tutte le cose é meglio aspettare il momento giusto. Ed è arrivato.

I've read this book ten months after I bought it. I know it because I'm used to write the exact date when I buy every book.
It was there, waiting for the right moment. Moment that I was delaying, sure that it was something different. I thought it was a collection of essays about dreams, hope. Something very literary and fictional. Instead, in these short essays there is a lot of reality. They are reflections, speeches, memories of the politically active life of Sepulveda. There is Chile's history, political struggles, their protagonists: Pinochet and Michelle Bachelet among the others. Allies and enemies, missing friends and desaparecidos' mothers. There is the story of a nation and its huge contradictions.
A very interesting book, full of everything, so different by what I was thinking. After ten months, I've read it in two days. I changed my mind. I wish I could have read it first, but maybe it's always better waiting for the right moment. And it's arrived.
