"Due storie sporche" è composto di due storie, "Mrs Donaldson ringiovanisce" e "Mrs Forbes non deve sapere". Componente essenziale di entrambe, ciò che fa ringiovanire la prima e deve essere un segreto per la seconda, è il sesso. La prima storia devo ammettere è meno riuscita, mentre la seconda è un piccolo gioiello. In quest'ultima le due donne, Betty e Mrs Forbes, si fronteggiano e si affrontano senza sferrare nessun colpo, con quel "non dire" in cui gli inglesi sono, per stereotipo, maestri.
La scrittura di Mr Bennett è sempre vivace, acuta, geniale.
Un libretto, neanche 150 pagine, che vi consiglio assolutamente. Come in realtà vi consiglio ogni parola scritta da questo geniale autore.

Alan Bennett is a genius of narrative. Brilliant, ironic, bastard at the right measure.
"Smut: two unseemly stories" is made by two short stories, " Mrs Donaldson feel younger" and "Mrs Forbes must not know". Main component of both, what makes the first one younger and must be a secret for the second one, is sex. The first one, must admit, is the less successful story, but the second one is a real jewel. In this, the two women, Betty and Mrs Forbes confront each other without any holds, using this "not tell" in which English people are, for stereotypes, masters.
Mr Bennett's writing is always lively, smart, brilliant. A short book, not even 150 pages, that I strongly suggest you. As, to be honest, I suggest every single word this extraordinary author wrote.
