Il retro di copertina, in effetti, avrebbe dovuto suggerirmi qualcosa. Avvicina questo romanzo a Coral Glynn, un altro suo libro, che é quello che mi é piaciuto di meno.
La storia non é avvincente, il protagonista maschile é noioso, le protagoniste femminili sono petulanti e egocentriche, gli altri uomini sono delle macchiette.
Qui e là trovi quei pensieri profondi che ti spiegano il libro... Ma non bastano. Il climax di tensione verso la fine rimane nella carta, il lettore non percepisce niente.
Mi dispiace perché avevo tanta fiducia in lui.
Forse il prossimo libro che scriverà... E per favore, che sia all'altezza di Il Weekend, il mio preferito.

After this one, I think I've read every novel written by Peter Cameron. And if at the beginning I was enthusiastic, this is the one that satisfied me the less. The back cover, well, maybe had to tell me something. It's written that this novel is similar to Coral Glynn, another of his novels, and that is the only one I didn't like.
The story is not engaging, the male character is boring, the female characters are smart alecky and egocentric, the other men are just characters.
Here and there you can find deep thoughts explaining you the novel... But they aren't enough. The climax of tension at the end stands on the paper, the reader doesn't feel anything.
I'm sorry because I trust hime.
Maybe the next one he'll write... and please, I hope it will match up with The Weekend, my favourite one.
