Jean Baptiste Grenouille é dotato di un talento divino per i profumi. Ha il naso perfetto, riconosce ogni odore alla perfezione, che sia del più delicato gelsomino o del più puzzolente pesce in un mercato. Ma non ha nessun tipo di sentimento umano. Lui stesso non ha nessun odore. Oscilla tra il divino e il demoniaco.
Grenouille é un personaggio affascinante in senso morboso. Ancora mi sento male al pensiero. Odio e amo il personaggio. Lo odio, ma ammiro la genialità dell'autore nel crearlo.

Jean Baptiste Grenouille is given by a divine talent for smells. He has the perfect nose, he distinguishes every smell, from the most delicate jasmine to the stinkiest fish in a street market. But... he hasn't any kind of human feeling. He has a complete lack of scent in his won body. He stays between divine and diabolic.
Grenouille is a fascinating character in an unhealthy way. I still feel sick just thinking about it. I love and hate this character. I hate it, but I love the brilliance of the author in creating it.
