Era da tantissimo tempo che avevo questo libro in wishlist e continuavo a rimandare. Poi è capitato che il 25 maggio, il Towel Day, mi sono capitati dei post sui social a tema e ho riguardato di che cosa parlasse e... beh, venivo da un libro impegnativo e poderoso e avevo bisogno di una lettura leggera ma non scema. Non potevo ignorare due segnali, ed ho fatto bene!
Già dopo alcune righe ero completamente conquistata e avevo capito perfettamente perchè fosse un libro di culto per molte persone!
Se può apparire superficiale e un po' assurdo, in realtà è uno di quei libri che ti fanno ridere ma con estrema intelligenza.
Tutte parte da, beh, la distruzione della Terra per costruire una superstrada iperspaziale. Ma, non lasciatevi prendere dal panico!
Da qui inizia il viaggio iperspaziale di Ford Prefect, alieno venuto da Betelgeuse e da quindici sulla Terra per studiarla, e di Arthur Dent, uno dei due umani sopravvissuti alla distruzione del pianeta. A guidarli, ovviamente, la Guida Galattica per gli autostoppisti, una sorta di manuale per capire e sopravvivere nella Galassia. Cosa dice della Terra? Beh... che è Praticamente innocua. E soprattutto, perché un asciugamano è oggi di massima necessità per un autostoppista galattico.
Se proprio queste informazioni non vi bastano, in questo libro troverete la risposta alla Domanda più importante di tutte, sull'Universo, sulla Vita, su tutto... ma questo non vuole che vi troverete anche la domanda!
E' l'inizio di un lungo viaggio attraverso tutti i cinque libri della saga, se sono tutti così non vedo l'ora!

I had this book on my wishlist for a very long time and I kept putting it off. Then it happened that on May 25th, Towel Day, I happened to have a lot of themed posts on social networks and I looked at what it was about and... well, I came from a demanding and powerful book and I needed a light reading but not idiot. I couldn't ignore two signs, and I did well!
After a few lines I was completely token and I understood perfectly why it is a cult book for many people!
While it may seem superficial and a little absurd, it is actually one of those books that make you laugh but with extreme intelligence.
It all starts with, well, the destruction of the Earth to build a hyperspace freeway. But, don't panic!
From here begins the hyperspace journey of Ford Prefect, an alien from the planet Betelgeuse and for fifteen years in the Earth to study it, and Arthur Dent, one of the two humans who survived the destruction of the planet. Guiding them, of course, is the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, a sort of manual to understand and survive in the Galaxy. What does it say about the Earth? Well... which is mostly harmless. And above all, because a towel is now of utmost necessity for a galactic hitchhiker.
If this information is not enough for you, in this book you will find the answer to the most important question of all, on the Universe, on Life, on everything... but this does not mean that you will also find the question there!
It is the beginning of a long journey through all five books of the saga, if they are all like this I can't wait!
