Poi è arrivato Natale e il regalo di un buono da spendere in libreria. Tra gli altri, a casa ritornai con questo volumetto. Poco più di cento pagine. Ma dovette aspettare alla fine di Gennaio, perchè nel frattempo Guerra e Pace richiedeva tutti i miei sforzi.
Ed eccomi qui, con il libro appena chiuso accanto a me.

Una raccolta di otto racconti, tutti accomunati da storie di adulti e di amore vero. Niente sogni adolescenziali o fantasie romantiche in questo libro. C'è la vita vera, ci sono problemi, sofferenze. E l'amore soprattutto, in tutte le sue sfaccettature. Il tutto, raccontato con la penna carezzevole di Valeria Parrella. Avevo ragione a cercare questo libro. L'amore qui è tutto, ma non c'è solo l'amore. Prendiamo il mio racconto preferito, Gli esposti. Che personaggio Maria Pia, che donna. Imperfetta, come tutti. Ma che sceglie. Prende la giusta decisione, per se stessa e per amore. Coraggiosissima.
Che bella raccolta di racconti.

I was looking forward to reading this book. Firstly, the title hit me. In a moment in my life when I was pretty sure about the too much importance given to love, as this one was the only important thing in the world. Because "too much" means always something negative. This was what I was looking for. Even I, as the little woman in the cover, was trying to slip in the wrinkles of an idea.
Then Christmas came and my gift voucher to spend in the bookstore. With other titles, I came back home with this little book. A little more of 100 pages. But it had to wait until the end of January, because in the meantime War and Peace took all my time.
And here I am, with the book just finished here, next to me. Same questions, how much stars it deserves. It's hard. A collection of eight short stories, having in common stories of grown ups and true love. No teenage dreams or romantic fantasies in this book.There is real life, problems, pains. And above all love, in every aspect. Everything told with the endearing style of Valeria Parrella. I was right in wanting this book. Love here is everything, but there is not only love. Discuss my favourite story, "the exposed (babies/people)". What a character is Maria Pia, what a woman! Flawed, as everyone. But she chooses. She picks the right decision, for herself and because love. So brave.
