Ho dato una stella non tanto per la scrittura della Gamberale, che apprezzo. Del resto, non ho finito il libro perché me l'ha consigliato il medico, ma perché mi piace come scrive. Ma ho dato una stella per questi due personaggi che mi facevano solo voglia di prenderli singolarmente e fargli una lavata di capo, perché in una storia così ti ci fermi solo se sei immaturo e non hai alcun tipo di amore e rispetto verso te stesso. E quando succede che entrambi sono così... finisci che sei in un libro chiamato La zona cieca.
Lidia sarebbe anche più razionale, ma finisce per credere continuamente e disperatamente a quest'uomo così sbagliato. Uomo sbagliato che è chiaro con lei fin dal primo giorno, le dice chiaro e tondo di essere un pezzo di merda. E lei continua a crederci. Ora, Lidia cara, io capisco che tu sia innamorata ma la comprensione del testo non fa proprio parte di te.
Adesso vorrei parlare un po' di questo finale aperto, quindi invito chi non vuole spoiler a fermarsi qui.

Lei è incinta di un altro uomo e ha deciso finalmente di troncare con lui. Va via dalla loro casa e si trasferisce a casa dell'amico Toni, dove aspetterà che la sua casa nuova sia pronta.
Lui è andato a cercare Brian, lo sciamano con cui sente un forte legame spirituale. Gli manda una mail dove gli dice che finalmente si sente deciso ad andare a vivere con Lidia nella nuova casa.
Il fatto è che Brian non esiste, è una creazione di Lidia. E Lidia riceverà quella mail. Cosa succederà?
Il realtà il finale non è aperto, perché noi sappiamo come continua la storia. Perché la Gamberale ce lo racconta in quel libro che è Le luci nelle case degli altri. Libro che non leggerò, perché adesso che so come continua, e che Lidia ha preso la decisione più sbagliata che potesse prendere.
E ci credo che poi gli ho dato una stella a questo libro.

Every book brings out something of what we are. In my case, it brought out a strong reflection on relationships. I say it strong, because reading about the relationship of Lorenzo and Lidia I felt many times the instinct to take her, give her a resounding slap and ask her "Do you want to wake up?". Maybe because I'm no longer a girl and for the charm of beautiful and damned I feel only great pity. A character like Lorenzo, narcissus, self-centered, selfish, indifferent to everything, immature, one with great speeches and few facts, with me would have a very short life. Because unlike Lydia, incredibly masochistic, at the second lie I leave. Because I do not want to waste time in a relationship so sick and self-destructive. They are both two immature, and masochists.
I gave a star not so much for the writing of Mrs Gamberale, which I appreciate. Besides, I did not finish the book because the doctor recommended it to me, but because I like it as she writes. But I gave a star to these two characters that made me just want to take them individually and make them a telling off, because in a story like this you stay only if you're immature and you have no kind of love and respect to yourself. And when it happens that both are like this... you end up in a book called The Blind Zone.
Lidia would be even more rational, but ends up believing continually and desperately to this so wrong man. Wrong man who is honest with her from day one, tells her plainly that he is a piece of shit. And she continues to believe in him. Now, dear Lidia, I understand that you are in love but the understanding of the text is not really part of you.

She is pregnant with another man and has finally decided to break off with him. She leaves his house and moves to her friend Toni's house, where she will wait for her new house to be ready.
He went looking for Brian, the shaman with whom he feels a strong spiritual connection. He sends him an email where he tells him that he finally feels determined to go and live with Lidia in the new house.
The fact is that Brian does not exist, it is a creation of Lydia. And Lidia will receive that mail. What will happen?
Actually the ending is not open, because we know how the story goes on. Because the Gamberale tells us in that book that is The lights in the houses of others. Book that I will not read, because now I know how it continues, and that Lidia has taken the wort decision she could take.
And of course I gave this book one star.
