Secondo libro che leggo di Agatha Christie, dopo il celeberrimo Dieci piccoli indiani. C'è uno stile tutto suo nel romanzo giallo. Un mondo completamente diverso. Un eleganza, tanti piccolissimi indizi sparsi per il libro, che nelle ultime pagine costruiscono un puzzle perfetto. Non c'è quell'ansia, quella cattiveria che si respira nei gialli moderni. Qui c'è compostezza, eleganza british... Per quanto Poirot continui a ripetere ostinatamente di essere belga, e soprattutto non francese.
La regina del giallo, lo é per un motivo.

There is her own style in the crime stories. A completely different world. An elegance, many small clues scattered throughout the book, that in the last pages build a perfect puzzle. There's that anxiety, that wickedness that reigns in modern crime stories. Here's composure, British elegance... As Poirot keeps saying stubbornly to be Belgian, and especially not French.
The Queen of Crime, she is for a reason.
