Marcelle ha sposato l'uomo sbagliato, ma si rende conto che non ha bisogno di sposare un uomo di genio, perché é lei stessa una donna di genio. Chantal é la professoressa charmant un po' narcisista che viene da Parigi alla scuola di provincia. Lisa, la studentessa ancora infantile che scopre il mondo degli adulti. Anne, figlia di una madre autoritaria e bigotta, che si annulla per amore. Infine Marguerite, sorella di Marcelle, colei che parte da una forte fede al voler provare ogni esperienza al fianco del cognato, per dimostrarsi viva, per dimostrarsi adulta.
Cinque donne completamente diverse che attraversano un passaggio. Che cambiano, che maturano, che provano, che giocano, che sperimentano. Che falliscono, anche. Che si annullano. Diversi gradi di femminismo, potrei dire.
Prima prova già ad un livello altissimo. Il resto, é storia.
