Conosciamo quindi un mondo che sembra un po' ricordare, di questi tempi, Downton Abbey. Grandi case, servitù che finisce per essere snob come e più dei padroni di casa, amicizie importanti e altolocate, tanti viaggi. Personaggio molto interessante la mamma e la nonna, Princesse Jane, due vere aristocratiche snob.
Nel mezzo, la guerra. Susanna si arruola nella Croce Rossa e presta servizio come infermiera. Tra le sue frequentazioni, spicca Galeazzo Ciano.
È una donna caparbia, testarda, una che non si arrende di fronte agli ostacoli. Però... Certo, facile essere così quando si hanno quelle risorse a disposizione. Quando, per non perdere tempo, si va direttamente dal ministro dell'istruzione per avere la possibilità di sostenere un esame prima del tempo. Facile quando si ha il nonno e la mamma con contatti importanti. La signora Agnelli mi era simpatica, ma é grazie a quel cognome e a quell'appartenenza ("Don't forget you are an Agnelli") se ha potuto avere quello che ha avuto. Queste pagine celano quasi un dire: io sono un Agnelli e decido io.
Sappiamo tutti benissimo che é il caso che ti porta a nascere in una famiglia. Ma é un caso, non certo un merito.
(La Signora ha poi fatto del bene grazie a Telethon e alle sue azioni, la recensione é basata solo su quello che lei racconta nel libro della sua vita).

The Agnelli's are called the Italian Kennedy. Rich and powerful. This book gives us a little bit of this world of elite. The 231 pages are the story of childhood and youth of Susanna Agnelli, the sister of L'Avvocato, until her marriage.
Then we know a world that remember a bit, referring to these days, Downton Abbey. Big houses, servants who ends up being snob like the landlords, important friendships and connections in high levels, many trips. Very interesting character is her mother and grandmother, Princess Jane, two real aristocratic snob.
In between, the war. Susanna joins the Red Cross and served as a nurse. Among his acquaintances, stands Galeazzo Ciano.
She is stubborn, one that doesn't give up in the face of obstacles. But... Of course, it's easy when you have those resources available. When, to save time, you go directly to the Minister of Education for the chance to take an exam ahead of time. Easy when you have that grandfather and that mother with those important contacts. Mrs. Agnelli was nice, but it is thanks to that name and that membership ("Do not forget you are an Agnelli") if she could have what she had. In these pages lies a "I'm an Agnelli and I decide".
We all know very well that it is the fate that brings you to be born into a family. But it is an event, not a virtue.
