Se sei proiettato nel futuro, non in un passato di regole e privilegi. Damian ce l'ha fatta. Come tutti i romanzi di Fellowes, bellissimo. La conoscenza fino ai più piccoli dettagli di un mondo alla maggior parte sconosciuto. I rituali, le feste, la vita sociale dell'aristocrazia inglese. E un confronto impietoso tra la vita nel 1970 e quarant'anni dopo. L'upper class inglese sarà riuscita a mantenersi tale?
L'ho letteralmente divorato, non riuscivo a staccarmene. Ho adorato ogni personaggio, la loro perfetta caratterizzazione, il ritratto di una società intrigante.
Se proprio dovessi cercare una pecca, è che avevo chiaro in testa chi sarebbe stata la madre del fortunato già dopo il primo incontro.
Se amate l'Inghilterra e l'upper class vi ha sempre affascinato, questo è il libro per voi.

Like all Fellowes novels, beautiful. Knowledge to the smallest detail of a world most unknown. The rituals, the parties, and the social life of the English aristocracy. It is a pious confrontation between life in 1970 and forty years later. Will the English upper class succeed in maintaining that?
I literally devoured it, I could not get it off. I loved every character, their perfect character, the portrait of an intriguing society.
If I had to look for a slip, it was that I had a clear head on who would be the lucky mother after the first meeting.
If you love England and the upper class has always fascinated you, this is the book for you.
