Chi frequenta un pochino i miei social, sa che sono una operatrice bibliotecaria volontaria. Sono una lettrice e accumulatrice seriale di volumi da quando ho imparato a leggere, e inoltre ho questo blog, che curo alquanto assiduamente. Insomma, di letteratura e di libri intesi materialmente sono abbastanza esperta. L'altro giorno mi venne "spiegato" da un maschio che si occupa di software, e il cui unico scaffale sarà pieno di un 10% di libri, come funziona l'umidità sui libri.
E questo è uno dei mille casi di cui io e ogni donna vi potrebbe raccontare. E' che ormai ci sembra una cosa talmente scontata e "normale" che neanche ci arrabbiamo più.
Rebecca Solnit ha spiegato questo comportamento e dal suo saggio è nata la definizione.
Altri due saggi presenti nel libro che ritengo particolarmente interessanti sono un esame sul mistero e lo sconosciuto in Virginia Woolf e Susan Sontag, e soprattutto l'ultima parte degli ultimi, sugli uomini. La liberazione della donna libera il genere umano. Quello che viene fatto alle donne influisce anche sulla vita dell'uomo inteso come maschio.
L'ho trovata una lettura molto interessante, ricca di spunti, profonda senza essere difficile alla lettura. Chiara, precisa, lineare. Non amo tanto quei saggi dove viene usato quel linguaggio accademico difficile da intendere perfettamente. Questa raccolta di saggi si distingue per chiarezza.

At last I came to read this collection of essays, present in my ToRead lists since infinite time ago. The triggering cause was a mansplaining episode, a term born out of the essay that gives the title to this book.
Who cares a little about my social, know that I am a volunteer librarian. I'm a reader and serial hoarder of volumes since I learned to read, and I also have this blog, which I care a lot assiduously. In short, I am quite expert about literature and books. The other day I was "explained" by a man who works with softwares, whose single shelf will be full of 10% of books, about moisture on books.
And this is one of the thousands of cases I and every woman can tell. It is now so obvious and so normal that we do not even get angry.
Rebecca Solnit explained this behaviour and from her essay the definition was born.
Two other essays in the book that I find particularly interesting are an examination of the mystery and the unknown in Virginia Woolf and Susan Sontag, and especially the last part of the last, about men. Liberation of women liberates mankind. What is done to women also affects the life of man as a male.
I found it a very interesting reading, full of ideas, deep without being difficult to read. Clear, precise, linear. I do not really love those essays where that academic language is used that makes difficult to understand perfectly. This collection of essays is distinct for clarity.
