E quindi... niente, questo libro non mi ha trasmesso niente. Dopo l'ultima pagina, c'è un postscriptum dell'autrice che dice "Non credo sia un romanzo strepitoso"... beh, non posso che darle ragione!
Probabilmente il modo di scrivere di Banana Yoshimoto, quel suo essere così "fiabesca" e sognante, quei suoi personaggi così filosofici e ispirati, non sono assolutamente quello di cui ho bisogno e voglia. Tutti quei richiami ai sogni, devo essere sincera, iniziavano anche a darmi un po' sui nervi. Per non parlare del fatto invece di quanto un passaggio specifico sul sesso mi abbia fatto ridere. Adesso non ritrovo il punto esatto ma una frase tipo "Con tutte le abilità erotiche che ho imparato nei miei anni a Tokio, sarei sicuramente capace di farlo impazzire a letto"... Dalle più alte vette dei sogni, al più terrestre richiamo al sesso animale.
Dò ragione alla scrittrice, questo libro non è proprio per niente strepitoso.

I've bought this book in a period of time when I needed calm. I read the back cover and I was sure it was that kind of book I needed. Then, actually, I read it some time later. And who knows, if I would read it those days... but I must be objective and write my review no ifs, ands, or buts, but (ok, just one) about my actual reading.
And so... nothing, this book got nothing on me. After the last page, there is a post-scriptum written by Mrs Yoshimoto who says " I don't think this is a wonderful novel"... well, I agree with her!
Probably her way of telling stories, her being so "fairy" and dreamy, her characters so inspired and philosophical, they are not definitely what I need or want. All those recalls to dreams, I must admit, get on my nerve. Not mentioning how much a specific page about sex made me laugh hard. I can't remember exactly the words but something like "With all the erotic skills I've learned during my years in Tokio, I would be perfectly able to drive him crazy in bed..." From the highest fairy peaks, to the most down-on-earth mention to sex.
I agree with the writer, this is definitely not a beautiful novel.
