E quindi... Forse per me è anche meglio.

At the station of the city of Milan, Mr Aghios is going to leave for a business trip. He carries a big amount of money and has to go to Trieste to release some financial duty. He is happy, not just because he will be free by this duty, but because this trip is for him a freedom oasis. He is alone, without his wife and son, free of meeting new people, seeing new things and who knows, maybe being a little naughty. His travel mates are a disappointment for him, too full of themselves or too boring. Everyone except one, the young in love Bacis, a young man in a troubled love who shocks the mind of the old man. He feels almost guilty for him, he would like to help him, he is uncertain between his duty and the desire of helping his young friend with the money he keeps in his pocket.
Other few pages and the novel stops, incomplete.
We leave Mr Aghios and his freedom's ambitions, never realized but just dreamt. And who knows what will happen in this book, how his life will be, what will happen once he arrives in Trieste. We'll never know. But, I must admit, I don't really like Svevo. His writing is boring. So... maybe for me is better.
