E questo libriccino di 78 pagine è diventato il mio nuovo preferito in assoluto. Complice anche il fatto di essere di poche pagine, l'ho divorato in un'oretta e mi sono divertita come una pazza!
Tutte le storie sono ambientate nel periodo natalizio, e se la prima ha come argomento un Natale della famiglia Sedaris, le altre sono di pura fiction.
Ho trovato fantastica l'ultima, "Natale significa dare", uno spaccato crudele e sarcastico dell'esasperazione del Natale come festa consumistica. Non vi accenno niente perchè davvero vi consiglio di leggere questo libro, in qualunque periodo dell'anno, io del resto l'ho letto a fine agosto. Non c'è certo bisogno del Natale per gustarsi la penna di David Sedaris!

I've always said how much I love David Sedaris. He is the genius of ironic, malicious, biting writing.
And this little book made of 78 pages became my new favourite. Aided by the fact that there are just few pages, I devoured it in just an hour and I had great fun! All the stories are set in Christmas time, and if the first one's subject is Christmas in Sedaris family, the others are fictional.
For me, the best is the last on, "Christmas means to give", a cruel and sarcastic cross section about the worsening of Christmas as another shopping opportunity. I am not going to tell you anything because I suggest you badly to read it, in every time of the year, I've read it at the end of the month of August! You don't need Christmas to enjoy David Sedaris' talent!
