Questo libro è decisamente diverso dagli altri. Innanzitutto, ovviamente, ha un finale aperto, con un continua... che lascia aperto un portone. Non sappiamo chi è il colpevole, non sappiamo come continuerà la storia, abbiamo tante domande senza risposta. Altra differenza, diversamente dai libri precedenti in cui tutti i personaggi rimanevano sempre della stessa età, in questo sono tutti invecchiati. I bambini sono cresciuti, e anche l'ultima arrivata, Maracuja, la figlia di Therese, è ormai una ragazza. Benjamin comunque mi sembra sempre uguale... E, diversamente dagli altri, forse perchè questo è uscito a distanza dagli episodi precedenti della saga, c'è un'indice iniziale con tutti i personaggi presenti. Utile per chi, ha letto i libri come sono usciti. Non consiglierei la lettura di questo a chi non ha letto i precedenti, troppo difficile barcamenarsi tra le storie di tutti.
E adesso inizia l'attesa per il finale definitivo... sono combattuta tra il non vedere l'ora di leggerlo e la tristezza di vedere una fine a questa saga che tanto mi ha conquistata con il suo realismo magico e la sua magia realistica.

Penultimate chapter of a saga that does not have its final yet. The Malaussene case is in fact the first part of a last adventure of Benjamin Malaussène and his family, whose second part will still come out no one knows when. But I hope soon... because I have entered this world so much that I don't like the idea of having nothing else to read later!
This book is definitely different from the others. First of all, of course, it has an open ending, with a continuous... that leaves a door open. We don't know who the culprit is, we don't know how the story will continue, we have so many unanswered questions. Another difference, unlike previous books in which all the characters always remained the same age, in this they are all grown up. The children have grown up, and even the newest member, Maracuja, Therese's daughter, is now a girl. Benjamin, however, always seems the same to me... And, unlike the others, perhaps because this was released at a distance from previous episodes of the saga, there is an initial index with all the characters present. Useful for those who have read the books as they came out. I would not recommend reading this to those who have not read the previous ones, too difficult to navigate among everyone's stories.
And now the wait for the finale begins... I am torn between not looking forward to reading it and the sadness of seeing an end to this saga that has won me over so much with its magical realism and its realistic magic.
