Gli unici che conoscono tutta la storia sono l'agente dell'FBI Mrk Andrews e il suo capo supremo, Halt.
Nel mezzo, tanti colpi di scena, incidenti, e tanto sangue.
Molto attuale il tema, al tempo in cui il libro è stato scritto e anche adesso, in un'America dove i morti per armi da fuoco continuano ad essere un numero preoccupante.
Peccato che sia una delle poche cose che salvo di un libro abbastanza noioso. A confronto, una puntata di House of Cards è da cardiopalma! La morale del libro potrebbe essere "Innamorarsi ci rende stupidi", anche e soprattutto se si è un agente dell'FBI. A parte che, a memoria, ho qualche dubbio sulla conoscenza di Archer delle strade di DC, soprattutto di quelle attorno al Campidoglio...
Quindi no, per una volta avrei potuto saltare questa non lettura sui Kennedy.

I must admit I have a little obsession for the Kennedy family. On my Instagram profile I follow many pages about them, I went twice on a pilgrimage to Jacqueline Kennedy's tomb and read all that I find about them. So when I found out that there was a thriller novel in which Ted Kennedy was President, I did not let it run away.
In history, set in March 1987, Edward Kennedy is president of the USA and is dealing with a law on arms control. Meanwhile, a senator has hired serial killers to kill him.
The only ones who know the whole story are FBI agent Mark Andrews and his supreme boss, Halt.
In the middle, so many strokes, accidents, and so much blood.
The topic is very timely, at the time the book was written and even now, in an America where firearms deaths continue to be a worrying number.
Too bad it's one of the few things I save from a pretty boring book. By comparison, an episode of House of Cards is heart-stopping! The book's moral might be "Falling in love makes us stupid," and especially if you are an FBI agent. Aside that, by memory, I have some doubt about Archer's knowledge of the streets of DC, especially those around the Capitol...
So no, for once I could have missed this non-reading on Kennedy.
