Finalmente, vediamo il mondo in cui è cresciuto, le scuole che ha frequentato, la vita dietro le quinte di un erede al trono, i suoi amori, e soprattutto Diana e Camilla. Devo dire che qui non c'è una santificazione e una demonizzazione di Carlo o di Diana, ci sono gli errori dell'uno come quelli dell'altra. Di sicuro, c'è il fatto che il loro matrimonio è stato un errore fin dall'inizio, che non si conoscevano per niente ed erano due persone completamente diverse con due modi di intendere il matrimonio completamente diversi.
La vita di Carlo rientra nei binari giusti con Camilla, la donna di cui è sempre stato innnamorato e che gli ha dato la giusta serenità. Personalmente, non avrei nessuna remora a vederla come Queen Consort...
Il libro è super dettagliato e ricco di tantissime notizie sulla vita di Carlo. Grande spazio ai suoi impegni nel campo del bio e dell'architettura, senza risparmiare piccole punzecchiature sull'improbabilità di certe sue visioni un po' troppo ortodosse.
Per chi è interessato alla Royal Family, è sicuramente un libro interessante e da leggere, del resto, rimane sempre il prossimo Re d'Inghilterra, il suo futuro sarà nei libri di storia e non nei giornaletti di gossip!

I decided to read this book after the third season's episodes of The Crown and discovered a little deeper the Prince Charles' youth. Always seen as the infinite heir to the throne of The Queen, and I don't even want to think about what the kingdom will be like when she will be gone. The one with the slightly red face, as if he had drunk a glass of red wine... the one always dressed in the old fashioned way, but without having the masculine elegance of his father.
Finally, we see the world he grew up in, the schools he attended, the behind-the-scenes life of an heir to the throne, his loves, and most of all Diana and Camilla. I must say that here there is no sanctification or demonization of Charles and Diana, there are the errors of one as well as those of the other one. Of course, there is the fact that their marriage was a mistake from the beginning, that they didn't know each other at all and were two completely different people with two completely different ways of living the marriage.
Charles' life gets back on track with Camilla, the woman he has always been in love with and who gave him serenity. Personally, I would have no qualms about seeing her as Queen Consort...
The book is super detailed and full of news about Charles' life. Great space for his commitments in the field of bio and architecture, without sparing small pricks on the improbability of some of his slightly too orthodox visions.
For those interested in the Royal Family, it is certainly an interesting book to read, after all, he's the next King of England, his future will be in history books and not in gossip magazines!
