Anche Burroughs, di cui non ho mai letto niente ma pare essere famoso per essere "l'efferato cantore di saghe che si svolgono in terre di mutanti e in cui l'umanità è una sopravvivenza arcaica", ha scritto il suo bravo libro sui gatti. Non è un romanzo, ma una serie di pensieri dedicati ai gatti e al suo personale rapporto con quest'animale bellissimo. Ci sono dei pensieri molto belli ma la parte più interessante, per quanto mi riguarda, sono le ultime pagine dove racconta del gatto Ruski e di un'avventura, per fortuna a lieto fine.
E' un libriccino svelto che si legge in poco tempo, ma tutti coloro che hanno gatti ci ritroveranno un sentire comune, quel fascino che solo questi felini sanno trasmettere, quell'amore che gli umani provano per loro.

Cats and writers is one of the most normal pairing in the world of literature, I would say more or less on the same level with alcohol and writers...
Even Burroughs, of whom I have never read anything but seems to be famous for being "the savage singer of sagas that take place in the lands of mutants and where humanity is an archaic survival", wrote his book on cats. It isn't a novel, but a series of thoughts dedicated to cats and his personal relationship with this beautiful animal. There are some very beautiful thoughts but the most interesting part, as far as I'm concerned, are the last pages where he tells about the cat Ruski and an adventure, luckily with a happy ending.
It is a little book that can be read in a short time, but all those who have cats will find a common feeling in it, that charm that only these felines can transmit, that love that humans feel for them.
